Wages are growing by 6.1 per cent in Australia, with the average male now earning $66,581 per annum, while the average female earns $54,907 a year. But the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show that women’s wages are now at their lowest level since 1988 compared with the average male wage, with women earning around 82.5 per cent of the male wage.
